- (13503) The wedding dress!
I still can't believe that I actually made this! The dress took me just short of five months to make -- I started it on December 16, 1998 and finished on May 9, 1999, or a little more than a month before the wedding. During that period, I did very little else besides crochet in my free time. Pattern source: Magic Crochet magazine, February 1999 issue. - (10758) Pink rose Irish-crochet doily
Pink rose Irish-crochet doily [6/8/2001] One weekend, I just wanted to make something quick and easy. The Love Knot stitch has always been one of my favorites; it's lacy and elegant -- and it works up really quickly. I finished this doily more quickly than I've ever finished any other, and I love the way it turned out. Pattern Source: This one is from the Annie's Attic booklet "Irish Crochet Doilies" (#87E28). I don't see it on Annie's website, so if you'd like to order it, try calling them at 1-800-LV-ANNIE. - (8872) Thread roses
Pattern Source: A Herrschners kit. Search their site for "Rose Theresa" to see if it's still available. - (8784) Irish crochet rose doily
Irish crochet rose doily [8/24/2002] I made one of these a few years ago but gave it away without getting a good photo of it. This still isn't the best picture as it doesn't really show the detail of the raised flowers, but it was the best I could do. Pattern Source: This one's from the same leaflet as the pink rose doily, Irish Crochet Doilies, Annie's Attic leaflet #87E28. - (8669) Pineapple Christmas tree
[8/28/2002] Pattern Source: This came in a kit containing thread, beads, and a Styrofoam tree form to use for blocking. It should be available at Herrschners. Try searching for "pineapple tree" on their website. - (8314) Hexagon motif afghan
Another from Quick and Cozy Afghans. Pattern Source: Amazon has this book. - (7999) Praline Pinwheel doily
Praline Pinwheel doily [8/29/2002] Pattern Source: ASN's Ultimate Doily Book. Annie's Attic now distributes ASN's publications. - (7873) Blue Star
I love afghan patterns that look like quilts. Pattern Source: I got this one as a kit from Herrschners; however, I do not think they sell it as a kit any longer. The pattern is also available from Amazon in Herrschners Blue Ribbon Afghans, but from what I have seen, the version of the pattern in the book is much less detailed than that in the Herrschners kit, and in one or two places it's incorrect. - (7807) Doily
I made this doily for some friends. Pattern Source: The Ultimate Doily Book, published by ASN (the American School of Needlework), whose publications are now being distributed by Annie's Attic. - (7661) Gingerbread house - front
[12/6/2002] Pattern Source: This pattern is from a House of White Birches leaflet called Crochet Gingerbread House, number 101061 - copyright 1996 by Rosanne Kropp. I was unable to find it on their site, so you may need to inquire with them to see if it is still in print. The leaflet says you can write to HoWB for a complete list of publications: Publications Listing, 306 East Parr Road, Berne, IN 46711. - (7630) [7/11/2003] Mile-A-Minute baby afghan
Another baby gift for a friend. Pattern Source: From the book Mile-A-Minute Afghans. - (7618) Crochet rug
This rug used 3 strands of worsted-weight yarn and a P-hook. Pattern Source: Crochet Collection by Leisure Arts. - (7582) Mile-A-Minute
This is an afghan I made for my mother. Pattern Source: Leisure Arts leaflet #2702, A Year of Afghans, Book Six , available from Country Yarns -- click on the link and order Leisure Arts leaflet number 2702. - (7472) Sophisticated Swirl
I made this afghan in June 1996 for some friends' wedding. The pattern is from Quick and Cozy Afghans, a Leisure Arts book. I highly recommend this book for beginner and advanced crocheters alike -- lots of easy, but beautiful, patterns in here. This swirl afghan is not only easy -- the only stitches used are sc and ch -- but it's very quick and warm, because it's made with two strands of worsted-weight yarn. I have to make one of these for myself. Pattern Source: Quick and Cozy Afghans can be ordered from Amazon. - (7386) cat_008.jpg
