- Hexagon motif afghan
Another from Quick and Cozy Afghans. Pattern Source: Amazon has this book. - Blue Star
I love afghan patterns that look like quilts. Pattern Source: I got this one as a kit from Herrschners; however, I do not think they sell it as a kit any longer. The pattern is also available from Amazon in Herrschners Blue Ribbon Afghans, but from what I have seen, the version of the pattern in the book is much less detailed than that in the Herrschners kit, and in one or two places it's incorrect. - Mile-A-Minute
This is an afghan I made for my mother. Pattern Source: Leisure Arts leaflet #2702, A Year of Afghans, Book Six , available from Country Yarns -- click on the link and order Leisure Arts leaflet number 2702. - [7/11/2003] Mile-A-Minute baby afghan
Another baby gift for a friend. Pattern Source: From the book Mile-A-Minute Afghans. - Crochet rug
This rug used 3 strands of worsted-weight yarn and a P-hook. Pattern Source: Crochet Collection by Leisure Arts. - Sophisticated Swirl
I made this afghan in June 1996 for some friends' wedding. The pattern is from Quick and Cozy Afghans, a Leisure Arts book. I highly recommend this book for beginner and advanced crocheters alike -- lots of easy, but beautiful, patterns in here. This swirl afghan is not only easy -- the only stitches used are sc and ch -- but it's very quick and warm, because it's made with two strands of worsted-weight yarn. I have to make one of these for myself. Pattern Source: Quick and Cozy Afghans can be ordered from Amazon. - Drunkard's Path "quilt" afghan.
[1/8/2005] I've wanted to do a quilt-like afghan for a while, so I chose the Drunkard's Path pattern with my favorite yarn, Lion Brand Homespun. Pattern Source: Homespun 6 Crocheted Quilt Afghans leaflet from Lion Brand Yarn Company. - Prairie Star Afghan
[3/20/2003] As I've mentioned, I love quilt-like afghans! Pattern Source: Got this from a kit at Mary Maxim. Unfortunately, they no longer seem to carry it, but PurpleKitty Yarns is currently offering a copy free with any purchase. - "Anastasia" afghan
[11/20/2005] I made this one for a friend. It was kind of a bear; the border is made separately from the afghan and then sewn on, and my gauge must have been off because the border was way too big. I managed to attach it anyway. Also, I ran out of yarn about 3/4 of the way into the border and bought a new skein...and the color was very obviously different despite the fact that it was a "no dye lot" yarn. Once I found the right shade, I had to rip back and redo it. Pattern Source: American School of Needlework's leaflet #1129, "Afghan Elegance" by Ann Kirtley. Country Yarns carries it. - Blue Waves afghan
[1/13/2007] - For all the afghans we have in our house, there wasn't one that Ray could use while watching TV. Of the two we have for that purpose, one is almost always in use (by me), and the other is too thick, unless the heat is not working or something. So I made him this. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Carousel Rug
I have made several of these as baby gifts; it's my favorite baby pattern. Pattern Source: Crochet With Heart, August 1998 issue. This magazine is now defunct and I'm told it's extremely hard to find this back issue. - Braided Rainbow Mile-A-Minute
Another baby gift. Pattern Source: This pattern comes from the Leisure Arts book entitled Mile-A-Minute Afghans. - (Yet another) Homespun mosaic afghan.
[2/19/2005] Another one for a friend, made from Lion Brand Homespun, colors Antique and Romanesque. Pattern Source: This comes from my favorite afghan book, Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. This is the first pattern in the book, "Bargello." - Dragonfly filet afghan
[4/11/2004] Made this for a friend who likes dragonflies -- my first filet pattern with yarn. Pattern Source: ASN leaflet #1300, Crochet Filet Afghans. - Close-up of Drunkard's Path Homespun afghan.
