- [7/11/2003] Mile-A-Minute baby afghan
Another baby gift for a friend. Pattern Source: From the book Mile-A-Minute Afghans. - Trellis close-up
See previous photo for description and pattern source. - Trellis afghan
[7/15/2003] I really love this pattern -- the texture, and the way it's different on each side. Even cooler, it's done using 2 rows of one color alternating with 2 rows of the other color -- no color changes within a row. The effect is done by using post and long stitches that extend down into previous rows. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Sophisticated Swirl
I made this afghan in June 1996 for some friends' wedding. The pattern is from Quick and Cozy Afghans, a Leisure Arts book. I highly recommend this book for beginner and advanced crocheters alike -- lots of easy, but beautiful, patterns in here. This swirl afghan is not only easy -- the only stitches used are sc and ch -- but it's very quick and warm, because it's made with two strands of worsted-weight yarn. I have to make one of these for myself. Pattern Source: Quick and Cozy Afghans can be ordered from Amazon. - Ripple-effect mosaic afghan and matching pillow
Homespun mosaic afghan in colors "Barrington" and "Montana Sky." The matching pillow was a bit of a challenge since the top and bottom edges of the pattern are scalloped, but they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, so it worked. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Prairie Star Afghan
[3/20/2003] As I've mentioned, I love quilt-like afghans! Pattern Source: Got this from a kit at Mary Maxim. Unfortunately, they no longer seem to carry it, but PurpleKitty Yarns is currently offering a copy free with any purchase. - Pillowghan (folded up)
Pillowghan, folded into pillow. See previous photo for description and pattern source. - Pillowghan
My first attempt at an afghan that folds up into a pillow. (See next photo for how it looks folded.) Pattern Source: Quick & Easy Crochet magazine, September/October 1997 issue. I do not know if this can be backordered; if you wish to try, the address in the front of the magazine is P.O. Box 7129, Red Oak, IA 51591-0129. - Mosaic Homespun Afghan
This is kind of a cool technique; it looks as if there's more than one color per row, but there's really not. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. Great book; there are lots of afghans done with this technique. - Mile-A-Minute
This is an afghan I made for my mother. Pattern Source: Leisure Arts leaflet #2702, A Year of Afghans, Book Six , available from Country Yarns -- click on the link and order Leisure Arts leaflet number 2702. - Homespun Granny Square Afghan
[7/19/2002] I didn't use a pattern for this -- it's just basic granny squares made from Lion Brand Homespun yarn. - Homespun afghan.
Homespun is the best yarn ever! Pattern Source: In Love With Crochet by Leisure Arts. - Homespun "mosaic magic" afghan.
[11/16/2004] Made this for a friend. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Hexagon motif afghan
Another from Quick and Cozy Afghans. Pattern Source: Amazon has this book. - Drunkard's Path "quilt" afghan.
[1/8/2005] I've wanted to do a quilt-like afghan for a while, so I chose the Drunkard's Path pattern with my favorite yarn, Lion Brand Homespun. Pattern Source: Homespun 6 Crocheted Quilt Afghans leaflet from Lion Brand Yarn Company.
