[7/15/2003] I really love this pattern -- the texture, and the way it's different on each side. Even cooler, it's done using 2 rows of one color alternating with 2 rows of the other color -- no color changes within a row. The effect is done by using post and long stitches that extend down into previous rows. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Braided Rainbow (close-up)

- Baby afghan
Another baby gift. Pattern Source: Crochet Collection by Leisure Arts. - Mosaic Homespun Afghan
This is kind of a cool technique; it looks as if there's more than one color per row, but there's really not. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. Great book; there are lots of afghans done with this technique. - Baby afghan (close-up)
Close-up of baby afghan; see previous photo for description and pattern source. - "63" Afghan
Sampler afghan made of 63 squares, all with different patterns. The next few photos are close-ups of some of the squares. Pattern Source: Leisure Arts leaflet #555, "63 Easy-to-Crochet Pattern Squares Combine to Make an Heirloom Afghan" -- available from Country Yarns and anyplace else LA leaflets are sold. - Dragonfly afghan (close-up)
See previous photo for description and pattern source. - Homespun Granny Square Afghan
[7/19/2002] I didn't use a pattern for this -- it's just basic granny squares made from Lion Brand Homespun yarn. - Ripple-effect mosaic afghan and matching pillow
Homespun mosaic afghan in colors "Barrington" and "Montana Sky." The matching pillow was a bit of a challenge since the top and bottom edges of the pattern are scalloped, but they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, so it worked. Pattern Source: Mosaic Magic: Afghans Made Easy by Lily Chin. - Baby afghan (close-up)
Close-up of motif from the previously pictured baby afghan.
