Heim / Tina's Crochet / Christmas 24
Last addition: 1/30/2003
- wreath-kitty
[12/27/2009] I got a sudden whim about a week before Christmas 2009 to do some holiday crocheting, and this was the result. Pattern Source: A now out-of-print leaflet from Annie's Attic called "Crochet Christmas Kitties", copyright 2000. It has six adorable designs including this one. - Hot-air balloon ornament
Tiny bear in a hot-air balloon made from a satin Christmas ball. Pattern Source: Favorite Classics Christmas Crochet issue #10. I have no idea if back issues of this magazine can be ordered, but the phone number listed in the magazine is 973-383-8080 (this is the Reader Service number). - Hanging Bells
Pattern Source: A Herrschners kit. The item number listed at the top of this pattern (called the Lacy Bells Wallhanging) is 58-7356. - Gingerbread house - back
See "front" photo for pattern source. - Gingerbread house - front
[12/6/2002] Pattern Source: This pattern is from a House of White Birches leaflet called Crochet Gingerbread House, number 101061 - copyright 1996 by Rosanne Kropp. I was unable to find it on their site, so you may need to inquire with them to see if it is still in print. The leaflet says you can write to HoWB for a complete list of publications: Publications Listing, 306 East Parr Road, Berne, IN 46711. - Gingerbread house - left side
See "front" photo for pattern source. - Gingerbread house - right side
See "front" photo for pattern source. - Brass horn wall hanging
Pattern Source: This is from the January 2000 issue of Crochet Fantasy (#137). To order call 800-877-5527 or check their website for back issues. - Carousel horse
This carousel horse is from a Herrschners kit. I thought it was adorable when I saw it in the magazine, and it was surprisingly easy to do. (But if you decide to try it, MARK YOUR ROUNDS! I had to pull out half the body because I didn't mark rounds and my poor horse started looking deformed!) My husband, Ray, mounted it using wood bits from a craft store. Pattern Availability: You can order this from the Herrschners website (search for "carousel"), or by calling them at (800)441-0838. - Carousel horse mobile
[1/30/2003] Pattern Source: A Herrschners kit. Try searching their site for "carousel horse". - Pineapple Christmas tree
[8/28/2002] Pattern Source: This came in a kit containing thread, beads, and a Styrofoam tree form to use for blocking. It should be available at Herrschners. Try searching for "pineapple tree" on their website. - Mouse with Christmas lights
This adorable little guy is from the big Vanna collection book. I couldn't resist making him, he's so cute tangled up in his Christmas lights! Pattern Source: This book is not available except as a package kind of thing from Oxmoor House -- they send you two packets of patterns a month, each set costing $15, until the book is filled. The pattern might have been published in another Leisure Arts book, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. - Variegated stocking
Pattern Source: The stocking pattern came from the November 1997 issue (#119) of Crochet Fantasy, although I did modify it somewhat as the original pattern has the cuff of the stocking done in loop stitch. Since I didn't like that, I used plain old sc. Anyway, the phone number for Crochet Fantasy is (800) 877-5527 if you'd like to inquire about ordering this issue; you can also check their website. - Ornament close-ups: balloon bear, snowflake, popcorn garland
Pattern source: Sources for all these patterns are listed in the previous photos in this album. - Ornament close-ups: popcorn garland, satin ball cover.
Pattern Source: The ornament covers are in the same issue of Favorite Classics Christmas Crochet as the "bear in hot-air balloon" ornament. The "popcorn" garland comes from a book entitled Country Christmas Crochet which was published by House of White Birches.
