- dolphin
[5/8/2009] Dolphin filet doily. Pattern Source: This is by Hartmut Hass and is available on his website. - Pansy Doily
[6/12/2008] We needed something to hang on a bare wall in our master bath, which is done in a lavender color. This seemed just the thing. Pattern Source: Old-Time Crochet magazine, Spring 1997 issue. - Close-up of rainbow shaded doily.
Close-up of rainbow shaded doily. [8/1/2004] See previous photo for pattern source and description. - Rainbow shaded doily
Rainbow shaded doily [8/1/2004] Another shaded doily done with 3 strands of sewing thread. Pattern Source: Annie's Attic leaflet #874111, "Painted Doilies" by Ferosa Harold. - "Twists and Turns" mat (close-up)
"Twists and Turns" mat (close-up) See previous photo for description and pattern source. - "Twists and Turns" mat
"Twists and Turns" mat [6/29/2004] This is one of those patterns that make me really admire the versatility of crochet. It wasn't easy (the magazine lists the skill level as "Top Expert"), but I love the ribbon-like appearance. Pattern Source: Magic Crochet magazine #150, June 2004. - Shaded doily
Shaded doily [4/11/2004] I was intrigued by the shading in this doily -- it's done with 3 strands of standard sewing thread, and when you change colors colors, you change one strand, do a round, change a second, do another round, and then change the third. It makes for a gradual color change, and looks really cool. Pattern Source: This is from the September 2003 issue of Crochet! magazine. - Pansy doily
Pansy doily [4/15/2003] Pattern Source: The HoWB leaflet Old-Time Crochet Made Easy (#101057). - Heart doily
Heart doily [4/15/2003] Pattern Source: An ASN leaflet called Our Favorite Doilies (#1266). I was unable to find it on ASN's site (their stuff is now on Annie's Attic but it wasn't there either); however, Jennie Gaskin at Country Yarns may have some in stock. - Praline Pinwheel doily
Praline Pinwheel doily [8/29/2002] Pattern Source: ASN's Ultimate Doily Book. Annie's Attic now distributes ASN's publications. - Pink rose Irish-crochet doily
Pink rose Irish-crochet doily [6/8/2001] One weekend, I just wanted to make something quick and easy. The Love Knot stitch has always been one of my favorites; it's lacy and elegant -- and it works up really quickly. I finished this doily more quickly than I've ever finished any other, and I love the way it turned out. Pattern Source: This one is from the Annie's Attic booklet "Irish Crochet Doilies" (#87E28). I don't see it on Annie's website, so if you'd like to order it, try calling them at 1-800-LV-ANNIE. - Irish crochet rose doily
Irish crochet rose doily [8/24/2002] I made one of these a few years ago but gave it away without getting a good photo of it. This still isn't the best picture as it doesn't really show the detail of the raised flowers, but it was the best I could do. Pattern Source: This one's from the same leaflet as the pink rose doily, Irish Crochet Doilies, Annie's Attic leaflet #87E28. - Pinwheel coasters
Pinwheel coasters Pattern Source: October 1996 issue of Crochet With Heart magazine. Leisure Arts may or may not have back issues. - Shadow filet rose doily
Shadow filet rose doily This doily is a filet crochet rose, done with tr's instead of dc's; in this way I could use what is known as "shadow spaces" to make the leaves. (A shadow space is ch 1, tr, ch 1, while a closed block is 3 tr and an open block is 3 chs...each is bordered by 2 tr, of course.) Wish I could find more shadow-filet patterns; I think they're really neat. Pattern Source: Floral Doilies by Dover Needlework. - Pineapples and hearts doily
Pineapples and hearts doily Pattern Source: The premier issue of Crochet With Heart magazine. Unfortunately, this magazine is no longer published by Leisure Arts.
