ICE SKATES

Materials:

Abbreviations: "sc" means single crochet; "ch" means chain

With white chain 5 loosely.

ROW 1: sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across (4 sc).

ROWS 2 thru 4: Ch1, turn; sc in each sc across.

ROW 5: ch 1, turn; 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across (5 sc).

ROW 6: ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.

ROW 7 (increase row): ch 1, turn; 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across (6 sc).

ROW 8 (increase row): ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc (7 sc).

ROWS 9 and 10: Repeat Rows 7 and 8 (9 sc).

ROWS 11 and 12: ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.

ROW 13 (decrease row): ch1, turn; , sc in each sc across (8 sc)

ROW 14 (decrease row): ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, decrease as in Row 13 (7 sc).

ROWS 15 and 16: Repeat Rows 13 and 14 (5 sc).

ROW 17: ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across

ROW 18: ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, decrease as in Row 13 (4 sc).

ROWS 19 thru 22: ch 1, turn: sc in each sc across

Finish off leaving a 10" length for sewing.

Repeat for second skate.

FINISHING
Fold skate in half and sew together, leaving opening for stuffing; add stuffing and sew closed. Sew on "laces" using black yarn. Add red pompom at top and paper clip to bottom. Repeat for second skate.

HANGER Join white with slip stitch to top of either skate, ch 50, join with slip stitch to the other skate; finish off.
